Coosa County, AL – 16-Year-Old Killed, Two Injured in Collision at Coosa County 150 and US 231

Coosa County, AL (August 23, 2024) – A two-vehicle collision on Coosa County 150 and US 231 claimed the life of a 16-year-old and injured two others. The crash occurred around 1:10 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21. The teen, driving a 2021 Nissan Altima, was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a 2003 Freightliner tractor-trailer.

A 17-year-old passenger in the Altima was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and the Freightliner driver was transported to Russell Medical Center in Alexander City.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
