Des Moines, IA – Injuries in Patrol Car Collision at SW 9th St and Payton Ave

Des Moines, IA (August 10, 2024) – A crash involving a Des Moines patrol car occurred Friday afternoon, August 9 at SW 9th St and Payton Ave. The collision happened around 4 p.m. when a vehicle attempted to cross Payton Ave and pulled in front of the northbound patrol car. 

The squad car struck the vehicle’s passenger side, resulting in injuries to the civilian driver, who was taken to a local hospital. The officer involved was not injured.
