Elizabeth, NJ (September 4, 2024) – A tragic accident claimed the life of Jose German-Munoz, 34, early Monday morning, September 2, in Elizabeth. German-Munoz was riding a gas-powered scooter when a northbound pickup truck struck him at 3:12 a.m. while he was crossing Spring St (Rtes 1 & 9) at Fairmount Ave.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and fully cooperated with police officers. As of Wednesday, authorities have not issued any citations related to the incident. The Elizabeth Police Department continues to examine the details surrounding the crash.
Investigators are still working to determine the events leading up to the collision.
