Essex County, NJ (August 05, 2024) – A tragic incident on I-280 resulted in the death of a 32-year-old electric scooter rider over the weekend, according to the New Jersey State Police. The accident occurred on the eastbound side of the highway near Newark at 4:17 a.m. on Sunday, August 04.
The collision involved a Chrysler passenger car and the scooter near milepost 13.8. Initial reports indicate that the scooter rider sustained fatal injuries from the crash. The identity of the deceased is being withheld until family members are notified.
