Fort Worth, TX (October 8, 2024) – A tragic aircraft crash occurred Monday afternoon, October 7, at Eagle Mountain Lake, resulting in the death of the sole occupant of the plane. According to the Tarrant Water Regional District, which is leading the investigation, an adult male was confirmed dead following the incident.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that the aircraft involved was a single-engine Champion 7EC, which crashed into the lake around 12:40 p.m. The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with the incident on the north-central side of the lake.

Texas Sky Ranger was on the scene, capturing aerial footage of the submerged aircraft. Divers were observed working around the wreck site, but recovery efforts for the victim have been hindered due to damage to the aircraft. Crews are continuing their efforts to recover the body from the wreckage.
