Glendale, AZ – Fatal Bicycle Accident on 51st Ave Near Glendale Ave

Glendale, AZ (August 29, 2024) – A 66-year-old man died after being hit by a vehicle while riding a bicycle early Thursday morning, August 29, in Glendale. Glendale police responded to the incident near 51st Ave and Glendale Ave around 4 a.m.

The man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but was later pronounced dead. Authorities closed 51st Ave between Glendale Ave and Maryland Ave during the morning commute but reopened it by 9 a.m.

Police are still on the scene investigating the cause of the crash. As the investigation continues, more information is expected.
