Harwinton, CT – Vehicle Operator Injured in Collision with DOT Tractor on Litchfield RD

Harwinton, CT (August 15, 2024) – A collision between a vehicle and a State DOT tractor occurred on Litchfield Rd (Route 118) near the Route 8 ramps at noon on Wednesday, August 14. Harwinton Fire Department responded to the accident, which involved a tractor with a mower attachment.

The vehicle’s operator sustained injuries and was transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital by Harwinton Ambulance. The incident also caused a significant fluid spill, leading to the temporary closure of Route 118 between the Route 8 North and South ramps.

State Police are investigating the accident, and updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
