Hillsboro, MD (October 13, 2024) – A tragic structure fire occurred in the 22300 block of Butler Court, prompting a significant response from local emergency services. At approximately 2:25 p.m., reports indicated that an outbuilding was fully engulfed in flames, with possible entrapment of individuals inside.

First responders from Queen Anne Hillsboro, Ridgely, Cordova, and Denton, along with medics, arrived on the scene to assess the situation. Upon arrival, they confirmed that the fire was fully involved and posed exposure issues to nearby structures.

As the situation developed, it was confirmed that there was entrapment within the outbuilding. Unfortunately, by 2:43 p.m., it was reported that one individual had lost their life at the scene. Additionally, a second patient was identified and transported by EMS for medical evaluation and treatment.
