Honolulu, HI – Moped Rider Injured in Hit-and-Run on Waialae Ave

Honolulu, HI (August 19, 2024) – A 26-year-old moped rider is hospitalized after a hit-and-run in Kaimuki. The incident occurred on Waialae Ave just after 7 p.m. on August 18. Honolulu Police Department reports that the rider was exiting a McDonald’s driveway when a vehicle broadsided him, causing him to be thrown onto the road.

Emergency responders transported him to the hospital in serious condition. The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene. Police are searching for a gray Toyota Corolla in connection with the incident. The investigation into the crash continues.
