Jonesville, FL – Pickup and Special Needs Bus Crash on Newberry Rd at NW 170th St

Jonesville, FL (August 12, 2024) – A collision involving a special needs bus and a pickup truck occurred in Alachua County on Monday morning. The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Newberry Rd and NW 170th St.

The driver of the pickup was hospitalized following the crash. Firefighters responded to check on the children aboard the bus; thankfully, none were injured.

Traffic continued to flow as the Alachua Sheriff’s Office managed the scene. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash, with more updates expected as the investigation progresses.
