Kansas City, MO – Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident on Barry Rd

Kansas City, MO (August 18, 2024) – A motorcyclist sustained critical injuries in a two-vehicle accident late Saturday, August 17 night. The incident occurred at the intersection of US 169 Hwy and Barry Rd. According to the Kansas City Police Department, a Ford Fusion, stopped at a red light, proceeded forward after the light turned green. 

A Harley Davidson motorcycle, speeding eastbound, ran the red light and struck the Ford’s left side. The impact ejected the motorcyclist over the car, resulting in critical injuries. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet, while the Ford’s occupants were unharmed.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
