Keaau, HI – Two Hospitalized After Rollover Crash at Keaau-Pahoa Rd & Kaloli Dr

Keaau, HI (September 2, 2024) – Two Keaau residents were hospitalized after a severe crash in Pahoa on Saturday morning, August 31. The collision occurred around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Keaau-Pahoa Rd and Kaloli Dr.

According to police, a 29-year-old man rear-ended a 63-year-old woman, causing his car to overturn and land on its roof. He was first taken to Hilo Benioff Medical Center and later transferred to Queen’s on Oahu, where he remains in critical but stable condition. The woman suffered significant injuries but is currently stable.

Authorities suspect that speed and impairment were factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing as police continue to gather more details about the incident.
