
Kershaw County, SC (August 12, 2024) – A collision on I-20, seven miles west of Camden, occurred around 11:40 a.m. Saturday, involving a tractor-trailer and two other vehicles. According to Master Trooper William Bennett of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident unfolded when a Buick sedan and a Ford pickup stopped for traffic and were struck from behind by a Freightliner tractor-trailer.
The impact pushed the pickup into the sedan, causing both to veer off the road, with the pickup overturning. The pickup’s driver died at the scene, while the sedan’s driver and passenger were hospitalized with injuries. The tractor-trailer driver was unharmed. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is actively investigating the incident, with more updates expected as the inquiry progresses.
