Knoxville, TN – 2 Dead, 3 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Ambulance on I-40 East

Knoxville, TN (August 20, 2024) – A tragic multi-vehicle accident on I-40 East near Midway Rd resulted in two fatalities and three injuries on Saturday morning. The crash occurred just after 5:30 a.m. when two eastbound vehicles collided, causing one to overturn and land in the median.

A third vehicle, driven by a passerby who stopped to assist, was struck by a Priority Ambulance that couldn’t stop in time. Both the helper and another driver died at the scene. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
