Lexington County, SC (October 21, 2024) – A tragic hit-and-run accident occurred on the evening of October 19, resulting in the death of a young woman in Lexington County. The incident took place around 7:10 p.m. on Hartley Quarter Road near S.C. 302 (Pine Street), south of Pelion, as reported by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

According to SCHP Corporal Nick Pye, 25-year-old Madelein Lopez-Resendiz was walking west along Hartley Quarter Road when she was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling in the same direction. Unfortunately, Lopez-Resendiz succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash.
