Litchfield, CT (October 22, 2024) – A serious accident involving a motorcycle and an Audi occurred Monday afternoon on Route 63, also known as South Plains Road. The crash took place shortly after 3:30 p.m. when the Audi, traveling northbound, stopped in traffic. The motorcycle, also heading north, collided with the rear of the Audi.

Preliminary reports from Connecticut State Police indicate that both individuals on the motorcycle sustained serious injuries. The operator, a 52-year-old man, suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Hartford Hospital for emergency medical treatment. The passenger, a 46-year-old woman, was transported by ground ambulance to Waterbury Hospital for further medical care. Fortunately, the driver of the Audi, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, reported no obvious injuries.
