Long County, GA – Fatal Accident Involving Jogger on Marcus Nobles Rd

Long County, GA (September 23, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on Sunday morning when a man was struck and killed by an SUV while jogging near his home. The incident took place around 11 a.m. on Marcus Nobles Road, close to the intersection with Lannie Burkhalter Road.

According to the Long County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of the SUV swerved to avoid colliding with a four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle that was traveling on the roadway. In doing so, the SUV struck the man who was jogging on the shoulder of the road. Emergency responders airlifted the victim to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
