Ocean City, MD – Teen Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash at 12th St

Ocean City, MD (September 15, 2024) – A hit-and-run crash at 12th St and Philadelphia Ave left a 16-year-old boy critically injured on Friday night, September 13. Ocean City Police arrived at the scene around 9:30 p.m. and discovered the teen had been struck in a marked crosswalk by a speeding motorcycle.

The motorcycle operator, Michael Schneider, 51, from New York, lost control, hitting a parked motorcycle and vehicle. Schneider fled but was later arrested with help from Maryland State Police. He faces multiple charges, including DUI and leaving the scene. 

The investigation is ongoing.
