Pasco County, FL (September 9, 2024) – A 21-year-old Inverness man died following a motorcycle crash on Sunday, September 8. The crash occurred at the intersection of US 19 and Sea Ranch Dr when a Chevy Impala, driven by 25-year-old Melissa Annette Lopez, turned left into the motorcyclist’s path. The Kawasaki motorcycle collided with the right side of the Impala, igniting a fire.
The motorcyclist was rushed to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Lopez was arrested for DUI manslaughter, DUI property damage, and driving without a valid license. Authorities continue investigating the crash and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
