Port St. Lucie, FL (October 8, 2024) – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on Monday morning on Interstate 95, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old man from Fort Pierce. The incident, reported at 6:34 a.m., took place in the southbound lanes of I-95 near Gatlin Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The young man was riding a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle in the right lane, following closely behind a 2024 Hyundai sport utility vehicle driven by a 52-year-old woman from Port St. Lucie. Reports from the FHP indicate that the motorcycle was traveling “at a high rate of speed” when it collided with the rear of the Hyundai.

The impact caused the Hyundai to be pushed into the center lane, where it subsequently struck a 2013 Dodge driven by a 36-year-old man from Vero Beach. Tragically, the motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The names of the deceased and the other involved drivers have not been released by the FHP.

Fortunately, the drivers of the Hyundai and the Dodge were not injured in the crash. The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding this fatal accident.
