Providence, RI – Fatal Dump Truck Collision at Plainfield St and Union Ave

Providence, RI (August 08, 2024) – Joshua Diaz, 29, tragically died in a collision involving a dump truck Wednesday afternoon, August 7. The crash occurred at the intersection of Plainfield St and Union Ave. According to investigators, a car hit the rear left side of a construction dump truck on Plainfield St. 

The impact caused significant front-end and windshield damage to the car. Diaz, the driver of the car, was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital but was later pronounced dead. The exact cause of the crash remains unknown.
