Raleigh, NC – Worker Killed in Work Zone Incident on I-40 South

Raleigh, NC (August 23, 2024) – Kevarus N. Bowens, a highway worker, was struck and killed early Friday on I-40 south of Raleigh. The incident occurred as Bowens was crossing the highway after removing a lane closure sign. He was heading to his truck parked on the right shoulder.

The State Highway Patrol reports that the work had been completed for the night, and the lanes were open. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of this tragic accident.
