Richmond, VA (August 10, 2024) – A driver lost their life after a car caught fire in a crash on Saturday morning, August 10. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on the Jahnke Rd exit ramp of northbound Chippenham Pkwy. Virginia State Police responded to the scene where they found the vehicle engulfed in flames.
The driver, who was the only person in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the fire. Efforts are currently underway to identify the victim and notify the next of kin. The cause of the crash that led to the fire is not yet clear.
