Rocky Hill, CT – Fatal Three-Car Crash on I-91 South

Rocky Hill, CT (October 5, 2024) – A tragic three-car rollover accident occurred on Friday night, October 4, on Interstate 91 South in Rocky Hill, resulting in the death of a 26-year-old woman from Bloomfield. Connecticut State Police reported that the incident took place around 8:48 p.m. near Exit 23.

The victim has been identified as Jada Upshaw. The crash was initiated by a vehicle driven by Jacob Daniel Texidor, a 23-year-old man from Ellington, who is now facing charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. According to police, Texidor’s 2011 BMW 328xi was traveling in the left lane when it veered into the left-center lane for an unknown reason, colliding with Upshaw’s 2017 Nissan Versa S.

The impact caused both vehicles to roll over. The Nissan, which was also carrying a 29-year-old man from Bridgeport, subsequently crossed into the right lane of the highway, where it collided with a 2020 GMC Terrain SLT. The crash resulted in a fiery scene, and emergency responders rushed to the location to provide assistance.
