Russell County, KY (September 6, 2024) – A boating accident near Campbell’s Landing boat ramp on Thursday night, September 5 left two people injured. The Russell County Search and Rescue team reported the incident involved a heavily damaged boat that flooded and sank, forcing four individuals to swim ashore.
One person sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment. Another was airlifted to the UK Medical Center in Lexington for head trauma and a hand injury. All four individuals were wearing life jackets at the time.
