Sacramento, CA – Injuries in House Fire Near 42nd St and Iowa Ave

Sacramento, CA (August 2, 2024) – A fire engulfed a single-story house near 42nd St and Iowa Ave on Thursday, August 1. Sacramento Fire Department crews arrived at approximately 3:55 p.m. and found the house ablaze. Firefighters discovered three individuals with injuries; two were transported to a local hospital. Authorities detained and later released a person of interest.

A second fire at the same location occurred around 7:55 p.m., with crews extinguishing an attic fire. The house was unoccupied during the second incident.

The cause of the fires remains under investigation. Further details will be provided as the inquiry into the cause of the incident progresses.
