St. Clair Co., AL – Two Killed in Motorcycle Accident on US-231 near Pell City

St. Clair Co., AL (August 25, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on Saturday, August 24, on US-231, about one mile north of Pell City. A motorcycle, driven by 33-year-old Dustin R. Layfield, collided head-on with a Toyota Camry. Layfield and his passenger, 25-year-old Audrey M. Peine, were both ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Camry, 35-year-old Billy R. McAnnally, was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham with injuries.
