St. George, UT – Critical Injury in Motorcycle Accident on Hwy 89

St. George, UT (August 5, 2024) – A motorcyclist sustained critical injuries in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 89 Sunday morning, August 4. Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Mike Alexander reported the crash occurred at 8:30 a.m. near mile marker 78. The motorcyclist, traveling northbound, failed to negotiate a curve and struck a guard rail. He was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries and was not wearing a helmet.

Earlier, on Saturday at 3:11 p.m., a four-vehicle collision occurred near mile marker 65 on the same highway. A northbound vehicle drifted into the southbound lane, causing the crash. One person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate both incidents and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
