Tallahassee, FL – Child Seriously Injured in Scooter Collision at Fred George Rd and Woodbriar Ln

Tallahassee, FL (August 14, 2024) – A serious collision occurred Tuesday evening, August 13, in northwest Leon County, leaving an 11-year-old with severe injuries. The incident took place just before 7 p.m. at the intersection of Fred George Road and Woodbriar Lane. Florida Highway Patrol reports indicate that the child was riding an electric scooter on the sidewalk and entered the crosswalk just as a westbound sedan approached.

The sedan driver tried to stop but could not avoid hitting the scooter. The impact resulted in serious leg injuries to the child, who was subsequently rushed to TMH for treatment.
