Wewahitchka, FL (September 23, 2024) – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on Sunday evening, September 22, resulting in the death of a Fountain woman and leaving a Fountain man in critical condition. The incident took place just before 7:26 p.m. CT when a 56-year-old man was riding a motorcycle northbound on County Road 5, with a 56-year-old woman as his passenger.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcycle crossed the center line and veered off the roadway to the left before overturning. Both individuals, who were wearing helmets compliant with Florida Department of Transportation regulations, were thrown from the motorcycle as a result of the crash. Despite the use of safety gear, the woman tragically lost her life, while the man was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.
