Windsor, CT (September 16, 2024) – A person was hospitalised following a fire at a multi-family home late Saturday night on East Barber St. Fire crews responded to the scene just after 11:30 p.m., where they discovered smoke and flames coming from a first-floor bedroom.
Although all residents were able to escape safely, firefighters rescued a cat and a ferret from inside the home. One individual was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, while no other injuries were reported.
The fire was brought under control around 1 a.m., but one unit was deemed uninhabitable. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced family. The fire marshal’s office is continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
